A Bendemeer Riverbank concert hosted Guyra and neighbouring bands in a lively contest. Uralla won with 74 points, Guyra 72, Walcha 70, as local supporters and hotel proprietor Oswald Whorlow organized a memorable afternoon with judge Claude Skinner.

Obituary notes the death of Frederick F. Thomas owner and licensee of the Royal Hotel at Goyra after illness. Born in Cornwall in 1860 he lived in Victoria and Inverell before moving to Tingha and later Goyra. Survived by widow, two sons and eight daughters, funeral in Co of E cemetery with Rev. McKie officiating.
