Guyra Parish Votes for New Brick Vicarage Plans
At the quarterly Guyra Parochial Council meeting, members unanimously agreed to hire architect R N Hickson Armidale to prepare plans and invite tenders for a brick vicarage costing 1500 to 1600 pounds on a site beside St James Church. The parish benefits from a 500 pound legacy and a sold old vicarage for 550 pounds, with 500 pounds interest offered for one year to help finance the project. Also noted is the wedding of Mr F J Mann and Miss M McBeth Sutherland at St Stephen’s Sydney and other local notices. The new vicar will be Rev W P Best who formally takes over on 11 April.
