Guyra district farmers will hear two American authorities, Wallace Kadderly and L Toyne, speak on advanced agricultural techniques. Kadderly will lecture with Toyne’s supporting talking films. The event, sponsored by the local Agricultural Bureau, is at Arcadia Theatre on Monday May 12 at 8 p.m.
A Main Roads Board surveyor will visit Guyra in the coming weeks to survey a proposed future overhead bridge. The Guyra Town Planning Committee discussed the need at its Tuesday meeting and residents hope the bridge is built sooner than the 15 years that followed the 1902 Guyra Argus article.
Town and Country Planning Committee approved several building applications on Tuesday. Forsyths at Keston seek a five room cottage valued at £800. Pong at Tingha applies for a five room dwelling valued at £400. Sutton at Guyra requests two room additions valued at £350. Lockyer at Wandsworth proposes a cook house and dining room totaling 286 square feet valued at £180. Atkins at Guyra plans a six room dwelling valued at £800.
Miss Jackson presided at the C W A Younger Set meeting in the rooms on Saturday. She urged growth to support Baby Health Clinic Ebor Bush Nursing and other groups. Monthly meetings were set for the first Saturday in each month in the W A rooms.
