DC3 Plane Rebuilt On Road After Forced Landing

Four large lorries moved a dismantled DC3 passenger plane from Evans Head to Mascot area via the New England Highway. The fuselage motors wings and tail were transported under a wide loads banner. Mud and grass in the motors showed evidence of the forced landing and no injuries were reported. The move avoided sea transport to prevent metal damage from sea air and bridges unsuitable for road transport forced the route.
