The 3 Rovers Coon Hunters Association seeks help from Guthrie Center farmers for a two day event in October. More than 500 dogs and handlers are expected from across the nation, with 40 area sites needed. Farmers may host ground hunts Friday and Saturday nights, with a beech show Saturday. Lindberg Returns to Eldora on Parole Violation
A 17 year old Stuart boy arrested two weeks ago for possession of marijuana was sent back to Eldora Training School for Boys. Sheriff Lester Petersen said Garold Lindberg’s parole from the school has been revoked.

Cyclist Sentenced to 15 Days for Stop Sign Violation
Guthrie Center rider David Petersen was fined and jailed for up to 15 days after a hearing in Justice Court of S E Robinson for running a stop sign and for excessive noise. The case, heard last week, resulted in the jail term in the county jail.

Three Injured Two Cows Killed in Car Crashes
A week of livestock related crashes left two cows dead and three people injured. In Urbandale a mockup car struck a cow and Willard Ritchie lost a cow in Seeles township. Gail Edward Thompson of Panora was involved in a second cow related crash near Morrisburg cemetery. Thomp son was treated after a $500 damage incident and Jefferson hospital. A separate Panora crash injured Gary Corsbie who was later moved to Des Moines. A 17 year old Dexter girl was hospitalized after rolling her car on old Highway 6 and the driver was charged with failure to have car under control. The 1966 auto was demolished.

Controversy over a state on sale bottle of whisky the Old Capitol replica in Iowa City prompted a run on a state store. Twelve bottles were offered at 12.46 each and quickly gobbled up as buyers queued for the limited stock. An employee noted interest declined after three days but one bottle owner planned to resell for a higher price to collectors.

Indict Cowmans on Arson in Guthne County
