Gunnison Valley will supply about three tons of choice turkeys for Thanksgiving markets. Ben Brown of the Utah Poultry Producers association says shipments will begin next week and total five carloads, with top prices around 24 to 34 cents per pound for first class stock. Disease and thefts have hurt local turkey farming, reducing investment and outside money.

Newlyweds Entertained After Salt Lake Wedding

Beet Hauler Duffin Survives Narrow Beating by Pulley
Mel Duffin, a well known farmer and beet raiser, escaped with injuries after a near fatal accident while hauling beer to the Sevier dump west of town. His shoulder and ribs were fractured and bruising occurred to his back. He was treated by Dr. Aldous and remained in bed for several days.

Lovell Knocked Down by Buck Sheep in Fayette
Lavell Mellor, 9 or 10, son of Mr and Mrs Al Mellor of Fayette, was knocked out in the first round by a buck sheep while in a lot Saturday. He suffered cuts and bruises, a deep gash near the eye, and was brought to Gunnison for treatment. Despite the injuries he remains chatty and about on bandaged conditions.

A center fire at Sevier auxiliary plant of Telluride Power Co. caused $40,000 in losses, injuring engineer Park who was rescued unconscious. The blaze destroyed a frame building, two large engines, one generator, three boilers, and a switch board, cutting power to Fish Creek, Deer Trail, Marysvale, and much of Sanpete and Seven counties until crews rebuilt the system.
