Lingering illness ends for A. A. Campbell a Mayfield civic leader and irrigation company president. Born 1861 in Scotland, he lived in Mayfield forty years and died at his daughter’s Garfield home. Survived by wife Janet, four daughters Emily Shafer Portland, Margaret Christoperson Garfield, Dell Christopherson Garfield, and Minnie Baxter Gunnison, and two sons John Mayfield and Thomas Emery. Funeral held in Mayfield with relatives in Gunnison and Portland attending.
