Let For Construction Miles In Salina Canyon and Haymond Con Company of Spring won the low bid on four sections. The bids totaled 9180,035.00 with six bidders and the high bid around 207 thousand. The project is seen as a major future route for commercial hauling and tourist travel.

John Amtotf 67 prominent poultryman and civic leader of Gunnison Valley died from a heart attack at Gunnison Valley Hospital. Born Centerfield March 12 1809 to James and Meta Amot t. Resident of Mayfield and longtime LDS church member served as elder in Mayfield ward.
Seminary plans a May 21 graduation at Savile chapel with Principal Luria P. Aldn presenting graduates. The program features student speakers, choruses, and a guest speaker from the LDS seminary council, with conferring of diplomas and closing prayers.

The Sevier Richfield Gunnison area athletes earned multiple honors at the state track meet. Individual placings included 4th in the 440 yard dash, high and low hurdles, javelin, and mile events. Other runners set marks in pole vault and sprint finals, with several athletes posting top finishes and relay legs contributing to the team showing.
