Alice Bardsley Dies at Family Home in Gunnison Valley
Alice Bardsley, 90, longtime Gunnison Valley resident, died May 10 at her home. Born October 1, 1805 in Oldham England, she emigrated to America in 1854 with her family, helped settle Centerville and Moroni, Utah, and later lived in Monroe and Gunnison. She married Joseph Bardsley in Salt Lake City in 1872. he died in 1937. A Relief Society teacher for over 40 years, she cared for herself until near the end and was widely loved. Funeral services were held May 12 in Centerfield. Continued on last page.

She married Elijah James in December 1008 and leaves a son Deland G James and daughter Mrs Alto Sorenson plus four grandchildren and siblings in Utah and California. Funeral May 7 at 2 p.m. in the Fayette ward chapel.
