Telluride will become an operating subsidiary, enabling a larger system and research for nuclear energy, plus a high voltage transmission line to deliver Glen Canyon power to Utah customers. Illness Ends Young Husband Father Life in Salt Lake City
Everett Earl King age 33 died May in a Salt Lake City hospital after illness. Born June 4 in San Diego he was son of Ralph S. and Verne Irene Glas son. He married Dorothy Christenson May 8 1945 in San Diego. The couple lived in Gunnison and Tool until moving to Salt Lake City. Survivors include his widow five children and one brother. Funeral services were held May 3 at Deseret Mortuary Salt Lake City with local attendees. Burial at Gunnison City Cemetery.

Local Gunnison man injured in car pedestrian collision
Al Smith a former Gunnison businessman and his Salt Lake City son were hurt in a Saturday night car pedestrian crash. Smith, leaving the Aurbech store, was struck while crossing the street. He received medical care and faces further examinations after the shock wears off.
