Beginning May 7 and every Wednesday during the war, Bonita Boures in Gunnison and Sanpete County will close at 1 PM and stay closed until Thursday. Employers of Vuminem concerns are urged to allow workers a half day to tend Victory gardens to ease farm labor shortages. The public is urged to conserve and stockpile sufficient supplies for the period.

Lawrence Whithek of Mayfield died in Manti California after a weeklong pneumonia. He was born 1918, married Thelma Braithwaite Bown, and worked as a clerk for the local OPA. Survived by wife and four children, three brothers, four sisters, and other relatives. Services were held Wednesday in the Manti South Ward.
