Rose Triangle in Gunnison Receives Unique Rose Supply
In Gunnison last week 24 new roses were planted in the rose triangle at the north entrance. Of these, 21 were new patented varieties and three were replacements. The project, begun in 1881, is funded by Jackson and Perkins Company of Newark, New Jersey, with ongoing reports tracking growth, bloom quality, and disease resistance. The Gunnison Garden Club once maintained planting, and markers now honor the roses as they go to market.

Mrs Loretta Tatton and her son Curtis left Mayfield on March dth to join husband Jimmy Tatton in Frankfurt Germany. They will stay in Europe until June. Mr and Mrs Daniel Good of Mayfield report they enjoyed the trip though many things are strange. They visited a castle damaged in the war but still interesting.

Pioneer Valley Farmer Dies Saturday in U L C
George Franklin Morley eighty retired valley farmer and stock man died Saturday from pneumonia in Salt Lake City. Born February 19 1876 in Moront he was eldest of ten children and a grandson of June Morley a Mormon pioneer. He lived 30 years in Gunnojaon Valley and Amtell area and held civic church positions. Survived by Lola Whithock later Caroline Nielson Morley ten children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Axtell Ward Chapel with a large program and burial in Centerfield cemetery under church auspices.
