A fraternal liaison committee gathers Utah and national groups to organize the Disabled American Veterans annual convention in Salt Lake City, June 25 to 28, with 300 clubs and societies aiding. Dame Schumann-Heink to sing. leaders and veterans from government, military and civic groups to speak. The Christian Endeavor district convention follows, May 5–6 in Gunnison, with Madeline Carter of Topeka as keynote and a full program of services, talks, and banquets open to the public.

J. T. Jones, a Gunnison banker and real estate man, departed early this week for Salmon City Idaho where he will visit the Pope Shenan mine. The large copper property is being developed on a big scale with reports of high grade ore, and Jones plans to stay most of the summer in Idaho.

Railroaders here oppose new stage line between Salt Lake and St George
Harry Cushing district passenger agent Salt Lake and J H Hornung general agent Manti met Gun nison leaders Tuesday to discuss a proposed Salt Lake City to St George stage line. Citizens favor railroads over auto competition and Lions club meeting unanimously rejected the plan. The secretary was instructed to inform the state utilities commission.
