Hamilton ward Gleanor Girls entertained their parents at a Monday evening banquet and program in the high school hall. Thirteen girls and their parents attended. The floral chapter of the Daughters of Jah Pipmeer joined with a We state organization to collect and catalog papers, artifacts, records, and materials relating to Utah. Collected items will support the Pioneer Memorial building display and be published in historical pamphlets. Residents with relevant material should contact Mrs Munk or Norma Metcalf, BYU student, visiting from Provo with her parents.
Dr Carroll Draper recently completed at the University of Hewatt and began duties as poultryman for the USAC Extension Service at the state college. He succeeds Prof Carl Frisch Knecht who has accepted a wartime government post in Washington DC before heading to Hawaii. Affiliations include Alpha Zeta Phi Kappa Phi and Gamma Sigma Delis haporary fraternities.
Caroline Thorpe Larsen Thorpe of Ephraim dies Saturday at the family home after four days ill. Born December 16 1849 in Ephraim, daughter of Jamin F Kirsty Larsee, she married Thorpe in the Manti Temple. The couple lived in Mantua then moved to Ephraim. She was a member of the LDS church and served as secretary treasurer of Heliet Society. Survived by Spantah Barley Thorpe Ephraim, Thorpe Ax tell Ward Salt Lake City, two sons, Alonm Lar e and Lareen Salt Lake City, and several relatives in California and Wisconsin. Corp Jor ffoneen, Army Air Corps, studies radio mechanics on the eastern point.
Mrs Noreal Mellir, chairman of the Red Cross War Fund drive in Fayette, reports the community has raised over the quota. Key contributors include Centertiel and Gannon Nave, with Peterenn as chair of the drive in Centerfield and St. Wertian assisting.
