FFA Chapter Earns Top Utah State Honors
Twenty FFA youth and three Sweethearts from Gunnison Valley attended the Utah FFA State Lab and forum sessions at Terrace Ballroom. Jed Christenson won the public speaking contest and a $900 Wak State University scholarship. he was elected state FFA secretary for one year. Four Gunnison Valley members received State Farmer degrees, and the chapter won multiple awards including a Five-Star chapter honor and a safety award. An April 1 meeting will feature a pioneer history program led by Lavern Pickett.

Joseph Olsen of Fayette marked his eightieth birthday with family and friends. Born to Erick and Maria Casperson Olsen in Centerville, he has long lived in Sanpete County and reared eight children. He is a longtime Latter Day Saints Church member and community farmer with 26 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren.

Art Exhibit at Snow College Showcasing Modern Works

Gunnison student teacher Jeraldene Jinesan seeks teaching career
Jeraldene Jinean a homemaking education major from Gunnison trains at North Sevier High School under instructor Mrs. Leeon Christensin. She was born September 5 19 MG in Richfeld and is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Mite. Jensen grew up in Gaoniseo and attended Gumsisan Valley High School where she excelled in FILA and student government. She studied at Southern Utah College for two years and will graduate from Brighwn Toang University. She expresses eagerness to teach and serve others. A Mayfield father, Robbie Erastus Anderson, 48, died after a heart attack at his home March pit, later dying at Gunnison Valley Hospital.

Fayette Native Dies March 23 in Washington
Edward Duffin a 67 year old Fayette native died of a heart ailment March 23 in Vancouver Washington. Funeral services were held in Kelso with burial in Portland Oregon. He was born April 17 to Payette Scott Jane Williams and Elizabeth Mellor Outfits. He was a World War I veteran. He married Evie Terralban Alley March 10 1947 in Kelso. Survivors include one son George Leray Alley one brother Clifford Daffin Van Nuys two sisters Mia Hyrum Lott Dubois Idaho and Omra Harold Extella Lewis Provo.
