Gunnison businessman Reyal Whitlock received the Honorary Chapter Farmer award at the Gunnison FFA annual banquet held March 12 at the high school. He donated trophies and has supported FFA for years, with a boy placing a display in his store during FFA week. Other awards went to Craig Cowley for public speaking, and outgoing officers Taylor Malmgren and Christenen received recognition. New officers announced include Martha Gerwnaen as president and Tim Chrirtaneen as vice president.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Mayfield Ward LDS Chapel with burial in the Mayfield cemetery. Hyrum Olsen, born January 6 1871, son of Magrer and Hannah Lambsteen Olver, active in church life, was director and president of the Mountain Grass is. He married Mary Helena Larnt in December 1902 in the Marti Temple. Surviving are daughters Lucille Menlows and Mary Malvern Salt Lake City, and former son Loris Lars.
