City Dump Turned Eyesore By Public Abuse
Mayor Leon Embley rebukes residents for abusing the city dump north of the city after a visit last week. Thousands of scraps of paper littered the hills and blew into town, as improper use piled debris toward the canyon. The mayor urged dumping trash at proper sites and burning waste to save taxpayers dollars. A cleanup last week prompted a council pledge to keep the area clean and enforce regulations.

Retired Utah Idaho Lager Worker Honored at Gunnison Banquet
William E Conder of Gunnison retired from Utah-Idaho Lager Company on February 24 at age 45. He and his wife, along with former employees, were feted by Gunnison Sugar, Inc in Centerfield at a Richfield banquet on February 27. Conder received a finaling outfit and his wife gifts. He began work in 1908 at Lehi, then Alberta, Canada, before joining the Craterfield factory in 1933.
