The proposal calls for a 10 000 bond with federal matching funds and a 20 year serial repayment starting in 1941, at 4 percent interest, to replace wood stave pipe with metal to prevent future debt and cost.
Mrs A B Nelson and Mrs Janette Jensen were released from Salina hospital to Gunnison homes after suffering first and second degree burns from a pressure cooker explosion in the high school domestic science room. WPA workers were preparing luncheon when the vessel overheated and burst, scorching their faces arms and chests.
Bert Eggertsen Gunnison agent for Denver Rio Grande was named delegate to the Order of Railway Telegraphers annual convention in New Orleans on May 5 representing the Salt Lake division of which he is chairman. He and Mrs. Eggertsen will attend the parley expected to draw over 1000 members.
Gunnison ward teachers were hosted by the ward bishopric and Aaronic priesthood supervisors at a Monday evening social in the Gunnison ward chapel. About forty attended, discussing business matters before a social program with generous ice cream and cake refreshments.
