The combined bank keeps a single charter, increases the board from seven to nine, and preserves long-standing regional banking roots dating to 1909 and 1920.

The factory has paid three bonuses this year, with the minimum now 7.00 per ton for sliding scale contracts. Local growers plan larger acreages as sentiment supports the State Farm Bureau sugar beet committee’s scale, and a fourth bonus may follow amid rising sugar prices. Engine ers and workers are at the factory making improvements to handle a likely 60,000 to 75,000 tons this fall.
