Centerfield resident Mia Ar yth Mar Hansen will serve in the Northern California Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints with headquarters in San Francisco. She will enter the Mission Home in Salt Lake City June 18. A farewell testimonial will honor the missionary June Vein at the Centerfield Ward Chapel. Mr and Mrs Merritt Bradley of Sterling depart for the national square dance convention at Kiel Auditorium in St Louis Missouri. The event runs June 12 13 and 14 with Bradley serving as president of the Sanpele Swing chapter and teaching sessions in Shaw College and other areas. The Bradys helped revive the art of square dancing locally and previously attended the San Diego event with participants from across the United States and England.

G V Teacher Studying Utah Mineral Industries
Dewey Lund of Centerfield a Guoninga Valley High School teacher is studying Utah mineral industries this summer on a scholarship from the Natural Resources Committee of the Utah Associated Chambers of Commerce. About 30 scholars gathered June 1 at the University of Utah for a three week course, restricted to 40 teachers and administrators. The program covers mines and mills and the Utah economy with scholarships covering tuition and transportation.

Edward Henderson West 91 father of Edward Veel Mayfield died at his Richfield home June 6 from age related causes. Born February 1 1608 in Payson to William and Hanish Jane Hender son West a 30 year Mayfield resident he married Roxanna Parker December 2 1666 who died in 1642. Survived by one son two daughters Laura Helquist Salt Lake City Mia Kyle Richfield and 21 grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Richfield Third Word Chapel and burial in Richfield cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at Gunnison Chapel for Lyte Frederik Johnson aged 37 who died June 10 at home of Mrs Glidyn Woodward in Salt Lake City. He was born May 3 1800 in Gunnison County and lived most of his life here. He graduated Gunnison Valley High School and attended the University of Utah before serving in the US Air Force.
