Twin Falls Idaho expert R C Davis retiring president of the State Dairy men’s association cites several causes for the butterfat slump. He points to the New York stock market crash, under consumption of dairy products, two days of supply behind demand allowing imports, 30 million more pounds in cold storage, high butterfat prices then decline, and a surge in butter substitutes with oleomargarine up 41 million pounds while butter sales rose only 2 percent.

Victim of Appendicitis Buried in Gunnison
Gordon L. Christensen died in a Salt Lake hospital from complications after appendicitis surgery and was buried in the Christensen family plot at Gunnison cemetery. Services were held at a Relief Society hall with Bishop Leslie Kidman in charge. He was 18, born in Salt Lake, and survived by his mother Mrs. Caroline Peterson and siblings Elmer Roy Gerrald Pearl Ada.
