Aviation cadet James Christiansen completed baptism training at Merced Army Air Field and proceeds to an advanced flying school. He is the son of John and Christine Christiansen of Connfield. Junius Metcalf’s wife received First letter in six weeks from Navy member serving in the Pacific.
Mrs LW Sutton and Mr Stanton of Salt Lake were guests of Mr and Mrs HJ Sanders in Spearmint last week. Sir and Mrs Cutford Caseer bury left Wednesday after a brief Centerfield visit. Gladys Toothe, formerly of Centerfield, accompanied her husband to South Dakota where he is stationed with the armed forces.
Stockholders gathered Tuesday morning as Guruniacn Valley Bank reported an excellent condition with deposits up 104 percent from the previous year and government bonds rising 100 percent. Earnings rose 35 percent. officers were re-elected led by President Chas Hasrmunen.

Enduring figure in Utah lore, Mrs. Christensen, age about 100, dies after a life spanning Ephraim Sprig City Centerfield and Salt Lake City. She survived the Salt Lake Endowment House marriage to John N. Christensen and lived through the Black Hawk War era. Funeral plans to be announced by the family.
