Solemn Funeral for Albert Modeen in Gunnison
Funeral services for Albert Modeen were held at the Relief Society Hall last Monday with Bishop Leslie Kidman directing. Speakers included John Larson and Chas Rasmussen, and musical selections were performed by Mrs. June Metcalf, Mrs. John Metcalf, and C. E. Ferre. Modeen died December 26 in Tonopah after a long illness. he once lived in Gunnison and had been wealthy, with wealth once estimated over 50 000 dollars after seeking fortune during Nevada's gold rush. The services featured many floral offerings, including a piece from Mrs. Mary Lyons. Modeen requested his remaining fortune go to Mrs. Lyons. The body was later buried in Gunnison Cemetery.
