A city wide Christmas tree celebration is planned for Saturday December 28 in Gunnison. Sugar Company Mails Xmas Checks in Gunnison
Beets growers in the Gunnison Valley received Christmas paychecks totaling about $80,000 from the Gunnison Valley Sugar Company for November deliveries to the valley factory. The payment brings the season total distributed by the company to around $1.78 million, slightly lower than last year, with most deliveries expected to complete by early next week as beet shipments wind down.
