North Beboo District supervisors Booth School District and Academy leaders urged parents churches and community groups to join in a campaign against student tobacco and liquor use. They endorsed stricter cooperation and enforcement across schools to reduce vice in athletics and activities.
Christensen celebrated his birthday with a mile high flight over the Vale area piloted by Mil V man from Salina Gibison Flying Service. After the tour local dignitaries and family rejoiced as he returned safely, praising his fearlessness and vigor at an advanced age. The Ephraim native later settled in Centerfield 64 years ago and remains active in community life.
The Gunnisos Elementary School PTA will host the Utah State String Quartet concert at Gunniron Valley Mie School on December 20 at 7 pm. Oley C Larson died of a heart attack in Salt Lake City at the home of his daughter Gladys Anderson while returning from California with his wife. Born September 5, 1882 in Redmond, he worked long for Gamnin Sugar Inc. He leaves a widow, five children, four brothers, four sisters, and numerous grandchildren.
Long obituary notes Mrs Willardeen born August 28 186? in Salt Lake City daughter of Robert and Sarah Forrester. She lived with Brigham Young family briefly near the Beehive House and married Joseph Willardeen of Ephraim. The couple later moved to Gunnison Mapld and then to Salt Lake City, with several moves and church service. Survivors include six sons and six daughters, eight grandsons serving in World War II, and numerous relatives. Interment in Guutiml city cemetery.
