Banker Mellor of Gunnison Valley Dies at 80 in Manti
John C. Mellor, longtime Gunnison Valley banker and leader in local agriculture groups, died Sunday in Manti at age 60. He served as vice-president of the Manti Savings Bank, held multiple presidencies, and left a large family including 10 children and 26 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Manti with many attendees.

June Metcalf, chairman of the Sanpete board of county commissioners, returned from Salt Lake after an examination. Doctors advised removing a tonsil, performed at Salina hospital this morning. He was accompanied by his wife and Mr and Mrs Ray B Metcalf on the trip.

Former Mayfield Boy Dies in Junction Crash
