July Bride Honored With Shower for Mrs Cardner

Mrs Anton Christensen of Centerfield hosted a Monday afternoon shower for fifty guests in honor of her daughter in law to be, Blanche Christensen Cardner. The couple wed at Provo on July 18 and left for a honeymoon to Yellowstone National Park after the ceremony. Guests enjoyed games, social time, and refreshments while gifts were many and useful.

Shirley Baxter Buried at Manti

Shirley Baxter six year old daughter of Gordon and Reva Baxter of this city died at the Anderson home in Manti after months of heart trouble. Survived by parents a brother Denny sister Ruth and four grandparents. Funeral held Sunday at 4 pm from the Anderson home with Bishop Henric in charge. Burial in Manti cemetery.

Honored on Birthday At Family Dinner Party

Peter Madsen celebrated his 77th birthday with a family dinner at his daughter Mrs. Lorin Hill’s home. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bridges and multiple Bridges and Bardsley family members from Sevier Centerfield and Veone. The event featured an elaborate dinner and 23 children and grandchildren. The same day, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Jones returned from a weeklong vacation to northern points.

Popular couple marry at Provo August first

Grace Eggertsen of Gunnison married Wells Anderson of Centerfield in a quiet ceremony last week. The bride, recently graduated with high honors from Gunnison Valley High, is now Mrs. Anderson who plans to live in Centerfield. A later shower schedule includes events in Centerfield and Springville. Loretta Kidman returned from Monroe where she supervised kindergarten work.

Hundreds Flock To Take Inoculation In Gunnison Area

Responding to a plea by the state board of health for typhoid prevention, more than 600 people from Gunnison Centerfield Ax tell Fayette and Clarion received injections at the office of Dr. J A Hagan with Drs. Hagan and G Stanford Rees and nurses assisting. A later clinic at Mayfield treated about 250 more, with Madeline Burgess promoting the effort and another session planned for Gunnison residents next Monday morning. No typhoid cases have appeared locally, and the public cooperation is praised as evidence sickness is not invited.

Snow College publicity visit extends into three counties

Miss Lucy A. Phillips chairman of Snow College publicity department and W. T. Horsfall son of President I Owen Horsfall spent hours in Gunnison Tuesday in conference with local teachers and students planning to attend the coming session. They left for the south and will visit Salina Richfield and points in Wayne and Emery counties.
