Voorhees Home Destroyed By Fire After Drenching Rains
The William Voorhees home at Went ed 64 Second South and First West street was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning. The blaze gutted the house, destroyed furniture, and total losses are about 2500 dollars with 2000 dollars insured. Origin undetermined though shotgun shell explosions were heard. electric and cross-wire theories discounted. Neighbors awakened but could not save the structure.

Pioneer Woman Called to Reward in Sanpete County
Mrs. Janie H Bench a Mant i resident and pioneer of Sanpete County died at her daughter’s home Monday at 11 am after two months of illness and a brief final stroke. Born April 18 1844 in Leamington she came to America as a child then to Utah living in Manti for 70 years. She married George E Bench December 19 1863 and left ten children 49 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A Mormon Church member since childhood she aided Relief society and Sunday schools and was highly regarded. Services for Mrs Bench are to be arranged.

Newlyweds Feted at Johnson Home Dinner
Mrs Arthur Johnson and Mrs Byron Fjeldsted hosted a dinner Monday at six in honor of Mr and Mrs Labarth Fjeldsted who were wed at the Logan temple last Wednesday. Twelve guests attended the table was laid for twelve. Mrs Fjeldsted was formerly Miss Beryl Jackson of Free dopia Arizona. The couple will stay briefly in Logan before leaving on their honeymoon.

Five Passengers Injured In Wreck Near Despain Home
Five people were injured when Ole Larson’s Tudor Ford rolled over near the Despain home on the state highway. Mrs LaVerne Larson suffered the most serious injuries, with a back wrench and numb leg. Devon aged 8 suffered head cuts. Ronald 5 and Vernon 7 had bruises. Ole Larson escaped with body bruises. The car reportedly traveled about 25 mph after hitting gravel, rolled over and landed upside down. Passengers were freed by bystanders and treated at home before a doctor arrived. Mrs Larson was improving by Tuesday and hoped to be up soon.
