Elizabeth Bartholomew Bown a longtime Fayett pioneer born July 25 1854 in Springville died peacefully at home after jaundice and age. She came with her family to Gunnison then Fayette helped settle the village and aided others in pioneer hardship. Survived by husband William and ten children plus a sister and thirty seven grandchildren.
Spencer Moffitt FERA project manager met Gunnison officials led by Mayor Modeen to discuss relief work in Gunnison Sanpete County projects include grading streets sidewalks and painting schools and public buildings. Two Gunnison projects approved are sidewalk improvements and a tennis court at Gunnison Valley High School with more planned to provide work for those in need. A water ditch in front of the high school is being pursued to prevent muddy walking conditions for students.

Myers, governor of the Farm Credit Administration, told the western regional Farm Bureau conference that about 250 million dollars have been advanced to farmers and stockmen in nine western and Pacific states. He cited totals loaned by Federal land banks and the Land Bank Commissioner, the share of farm mortgage debt held, and the projected lending to reach roughly two thirds more, all yielding lower interest and long refinancing terms for relief and stability.

Utah farmers filing certificates of compliance on wheat adjustment contracts will receive 205900.00 as the second payment. A total of 451573.00 on 5645 contracts approved in Utah has been paid as the first installment, with checks for the second proceeding rapidly. The total Utah payments are projected at 607,474.00, at nine cents per bushel, with deductions for local production control expenses. nationwide second installment disbursement will push total wheat benefits to about 98,000,000.
