Silas Newman, a Gunnison volunteer who served in France, has come home to his mother Mrs. 8 EB Newman. He enlisted over eighteen months ago and wears three service stripes. Assigned to the 41st division then moved to a non combatant unit, he helped supply officers and front line troops with supplies and ammunition. He plans to stay in Gunnison indefinitely.
