Temperance Notes From Local W T U Meeting Adds New Members

At the last meeting of the W. T. U. three new members were warmly welcomed through a special service. Additional new members remain to be introduced. Appointments were made for Supt. Scientific Temperance Instruction Miss Clara Feiring, Supt. Anti Narcotics Mrs. P. R. Trubshaw, Librarian Mrs. Carleton, Assistant Organist Miss Wildland. The union will study parliamentary law and other topics, and plan a social evening for friends referenced elsewhere.

Appointment to rural free delivery inspector in Cooperstown

Thomas Marshall informs P R Trueshaw of Cooperstown that a top rural free delivery inspector will visit Cooperstown in two to three weeks to process pending applications. He notes a $500 per year salary, a $500 bond, and a substitute bond, and asks local interest to aid in securing a suitable mail carrier. Marshall will remain in contact with Mr Clark and may travel to Cooperstown if needed.

Mrs. R. C. Cooper returns from a three week trip to Ohio and Illinois. Local mill offers a year’s flour supply for 15 cents per bushel. Notices cover arri vals, store promotions, a rural route discussion, school board changes, and local personnel updates. Occasional obituaries, a Halloween social, and a reward for missing stock are noted.
