After three physicians gave up, Electric Bitters produced quick improvement and a three week course led to full recovery. Oliver credits the cure to the tonic sold by Bateman and Co. drug store.
PMAER George S. Montgomery, receiver, has sued about twenty members to recover 1899 assessments. Judgments were won against a dozen farmers in Stutsman and Griggs counties. Suits may be filed in Wahpeton where assessments were payable, aiming to fund a possible dividend for 1899 losses.
The Finley event opened with a new two room schoolhouse and a large crowd of farmers and townspeople. President J H Worst of the Agricultural College spoke on farming topics while attorney Geo Murray led a rights discussion. A dairy subject and cream separator query sparked laughter before E. E. Kaufman explained timing.
