McNally Named Elks State Deputy in Wyoming

R. E. McNally of Sheridan has been named state deputy for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He will attend a Chicago conference on October 1. Wyoming has seven lodges with about 5000 members in Cheyenne Laramie Rawlins Rock Springs Sheridan Casper and Greybull.

Shell Country Club Holds Annual Meet

The Lower Shell Country Club held its first annual meeting at Mrs. Max Mott’s home on Sept. 14 after a postponement for the fair. Officers re elected for the year include President Mrs Max Mott Vice President Mrs Sheldon Linderman Secretary and Treasurer Mrs Anna Flitner and Corresponding Secretary and Reporter Mrs Will Rappleye. Del Yes refreshments followed. The group met again at Mrs Sheldon Linderman’s home for a picnic dinner with music. Several new members joined. The club will meet Oct 5 at 11 at the ranch hosted by Mrs Anna Flitner with butter making shown by Mrs Court Cropsey.

Lost Camper Found in Hills Near Basin

After six days of searching by cowboys and forest rangers, 82 year old A McMahon was found on a narrow ledge in the Medicine Lodge canyon in the Big Horn mountains near Basin. Ropes were lowered for the rescue. He had been without water for three days and without food for a week, but is expected to recover.

Obituary of Eugene J. Johnson

Eugene J. Johnson born August 25 1894 at Stewart Iowa died September 24 1922 in an accident in Reno Nevada. Ex service man who spent time in Greybull his body to arrive in Greybull for interment with Rev Wm J Lloyd of White Temple church officiating. His father and mother from Milan Missouri are here and he leaves one brother Mearle of Greybull.

The County Agent seeks University approval to attend a show to showcase county displays and Douglas Fairs. Exhibits require 32 potatoes and twelve lots with two varieties each. Prizes won go to the exhibit with possible deductions for decorating and transportation.
