Democrats from all parts of the Big Horn Basin gathered at the Jackson day banquet in the First State bank building on Monday evening. The event featured speeches praising Andrew Jackson and Democratic leaders, with Governor Ross, Senator Kendrick, and Jos. C. O'Mahoney among speakers. F. J. Quartman of Standard employees broke his leg at a private skating party for boilermakers and brick masons of the Standard refinery on Tuesday night. Dr. Minnis treated him. an oblique fracture above the ankle was noted. About fifty guests finished the evening after the mishap with special music.

Lions Club Luncheon Endorses Gas Tax Increase and Leadership

Odd Fellows Hold Joint Installation in Greybull
The Odd Fellow lodges of the Big Horn Basin held a district installation of officers in Greybull on Saturday with over 200 members attending from Thermopolis Worland Basin and Lovell. About fifty officers were installed in the school gymnasium followed by a banquet at the Masonic hall prepared by the Rebekah ladies. The next district installation will be in Thermopolis in July.

Gas well on Billy Creek structure brings in at Buffalo
Reports from Buffalo say Consolidated Royalty Co has struck a gas well on the Billy Creek structure twelve miles east of the city. The well yields about 60 million cubic feet per day and with high pressure nearly demolished the rig. The wet gas is suitable for casing head gas production and locals expect oil may be found there.
