The Greybull town council met in regular session at the town hall with Mayor J L McMillan and councilors Pritchett Luft Simpson and Garnett. They approved ordinances repealing No 142 and creating No 155 and 158, raised licenses for dance halls, defined assault and battery, authorized removal of burned buildings, set a 1922 1928 tax totaling 24000 with 15000 interest, designated three banks as depositories, and authorized purchase of a fire truck and street sprinkler with a council committee appointed to equip it. The meeting adjourned to April 18.

Wirt Bailey, charged with killing a beef belonging to Mill Iron Co in Cottonwood country near Thermopolis last fall, was acquitted in Thermopolis district court. David Soderholm and Oscar Moore faced similar charges but their trials were postponed awaiting Supreme Court ruling on a law making possession of an unshowable beef a felony.

The Mosher-Salt Creek Syndicate completed its test well at Salt Creek after drilling 2726 ft. The well flowed by heads and yielded 480 barrels in the first 24 hours. Tanks are being erected and oil will be conveyed by the Midwest pipeline. Significant summer activity is planned around the site.

Harrison Oil & Gas Drilling Midwest Homestead Lease
Harrison Oil & Gas Co arrived from Columbus Montana with a 28 Star Special rig and began drilling a 12 and a quarter inch hole a mile and a half south of town on the Midwest Homestead lease. Eight wells are planned with casing to arrive this week as drilling targets Greybull sand at about 915 feet. The company is a substantial Montana Lake Basin driller active in the region.
