A gas well on the ferno William H. Mobley near Hartsville Saturday morning yielded a promising shot. Gas flow checked at about 30 pounds pressure, indicating a productive well.
Mrs Mary Glass known as Aunt Polly died at her Adams home Friday at 8 45 am after a two week illness from old age complications. Born four miles east of Greensburg she lived in this county all her life. Survived by son Stamper Glass and brothers Thomas B Perry and William Perry. Funeral at Adams M E church Sunday at 1 pm conducted by Rev James B Lathrop assisted by Rev Perry.
Elmer Lemmon sues William Wood of St Omer in Decatur circuit court following a Saturday night shooting at St Omer. Lemmon survived after about seventy five bullets were removed by Dr. Bell of St Paul and has since returned home to Indianapolis where he works for the Cadillac Automobile Company.
On the last day of the October term, Decatur County circuit court heard several divorces. Williams versus Williams ended with Williams granted a divorce to Mrs Williams after adultery claims proved false. Divorces were also granted to Anna Brooks, Myrtle Morgan, and Philip Hamilton. In Layton versus Tremain, probate claim, the court ruled for the defendant and awarded 150.
Horace C. Skillman and Miss Blanche M. Berry were married Saturday evening at the bride's East Washington Street home. Rev. A. D. Berry officiated in a small ceremony with a few friends. The couple will spend several days in Chicago before settling in the city.
John E. Robbins tied his valuable mare Helen Silvers in a barn lot after visiting fire ruins. The frightened horse jumped a high stone wall and the buggy was wrecked. The mare suffered serious bruises and cuts. she is described as a very valuable animal with past offers of $30,000.
Affidavits against Clara Porter of Greensburg in Justice Stader's court on profanity and provoke charges were dismissed at prosecutors request. A Greensburg affidavit says Porter paid one fine and has no money for another. she is near destitute and fears her children will suffer if jailed.
A large gathering at John W. Crise's home near Forest Hill honored Isaac Woodruff, Crise's stepfather and county pioneer, on his 87th birthday. Attendees enjoyed a noon dinner and described the day as a memorable, happy occasion.

Robert Lowe twelve year old son of Summer Lowe near Clarksburg was badly bitten on the cheek by a large rat while sleeping last Thursday night. He awakened his parents with screams and they found him severely wounded as the rat fled the room.
