Word from Fairland says Rev J W Dashiel has fully recovered from a serious illness while en route to Clarksburg and can resume duties. He was assigned to the Clarksburg circuit but lives in Sandusky and approves his new posting. Rev Paul Edwards now leads the Fairland circuit and begins church repairs and refurbishment at Fairland.

New Postal Cards To Replace One Cent Style
The local post office will stop selling the present one cent postal cards soon. A more artistic, smoother, higher quality card will be introduced to replace the current inferior stock that clogs pens. The old cards often show writing begun with a pen and finished with a pencil. The department plans a better card to obviate this.
Big Hog Sale Sets State Record Receipts At Milroy
Harrison hog sale at Milroy on Thursday totaled 1293.50 with 51 head averaging 325.56. Will Brown and Will Martin bought the top hogs for 40 and 55 dollars, a hog given to the Methodist church brought 33.50, and a 44 dollar collection was added by the auctioneers Tom Winnedge Albert Morris and Joe Pike of Rushville Republican reports.

Elmer Lemmon, wounded by William Woods in St Omer on Hallows Eve, has recovered enough to resume work at the Cadillac Automobile Company in Indianapolis. Herschel McCoy and Joseph Owens were also grazed by pellets during the incident as Lemmon’s companions played a prank that led Woods to fire.

Hope Man Finds Pearl in Oyster Purchase
Marshall George Wendel of Hope bought a quart of oysters for forty cents. He found a pearl weighing a carat in the shell, about the size of a garden pea. A local jeweler values it at least eighty dollars and it will be shown to Cincinnati experts for appraisal.
