Reverend William Torrance and wife from Lexington Illinois visited Greensburg's Presbyterian church over Sunday preaching two sermons to large audiences. He formerly led Greensburg from 1884 to 1891 and now serves Lexington before a Kentucky visit with daughter Kathryn Torrance principal of Bowling Green College. The couple plan to return for next Sunday services and invite all to attend.

Lon Van Blaricum of Grammer was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Columbus on a petit larceny charge. Logan Burns, a Grammer hotel keeper, accuses him of entering Burns hotel last Friday night and stealing six dollars. Burns saw Van Blaricum run from the hotel the night of the alleged theft. The accused pleaded not guilty in Justice Turner’s court.

Death of Miss Hannah Hunt at North Franklin Street
Miss Hannah Hunt died at her home on North Franklin Street at one o clock Sunday morning. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home by Rev. A R Beach. The 71 year old woman had been invalid and blind for 30 years. She leaves two sisters Hattie Wachsmuth and Secrist both of Chicago and a brother Brazier Hunt of Denver Colorado. Burial was in South Park cemetery.

Death of William Speer longtime Covington hardware merchant
William Speer aged eighty one died at his North Willow street home at two in the morning. A former Covington hardware merchant, he moved to Rushville about two years ago to be near his children. Survived by wife Eliza and five children including Belle Speer Theodore Reed George Speer Nettie Bonner and Thomas Speer. Funeral Friday at two led by Rev J F Cowling with interment in East Hill cemetery vault. He was a Greensburg former resident and brother of the late Edward Speer.

United States Senator Watts of West Virginia visited Rushville at Harrie Jones’s invitation to discuss training and racing plans for his high bred trotters and pacers next season. Watts’s trotting stallion General Watts earned over 21000 in stakes and set a three year old trotting record, including the Kentucky Futurity win with 10000 prize. Hartsville Druggist Shot After Runaway Buggy
Charles Morrison a Hartsville druggist was shot in the left forearm after a runaway near Hope. He had turned over in a buggy about midnight and was mistaken for a burglar by Theo Templeton. Marshall Wendel and Philip Spaugh fired when a man fled toward them, injuring Morrison. He was taken to Hope for care.

Walter Richey awarded damages against Big Four Railroad
Walter Richey of Waldron received 2500 in damages against the Big Four Railroad Company for injuries from March 1905. The jury deliberated eight days and returned the verdict at 9 45 pm Friday after less than five hours of deliberation. Richey sought 10000 and was notified by telephone. The case was described as among the most stubbornly fought in recent local court history.
