Old Dair distillery Demolished in Landmark Loss

Abel Ewing of this city died after learning of his father Robert Ewing's death in Oklahoma. Born in 1835 in Clay township, he married Sallie King in 1855. Survived by four daughters including Mrs Butler and Mrs Smiley, five brothers, and a sister. He previously lived in Council Grove and returned for a final family gathering about five years ago.

Her body arrived Tuesday at 4 25 p m with sister Miss Jessie Barger, who had traveled with her in August seeking health. She was born Josephine Barger on a Milford farm now owned by John Young. She married Alfred P Gaines about forty five years ago. he died about three years ago. Funeral from Mrs Will Haas home on East Main Street at 2 p m Wednesday with Rev A Murphy and Rev J H Doddridge officiating. Surviving: son Fred and daughters Mrs Flora Haas and Mrs Mable Cook.

Fatal fall of Dr. James Bracken shocks town
Dr. James Brown Bracken died after a fall from a second story window on the Bracken block. He reportedly slipped from a narrow stone ledge and struck the cement walk, crushing his skull and dying ten minutes later. Born November 26 1841 Milroy he moved here in 1862 and studied medicine with his father. A short funeral was held and cremation followed in Indianapolis.

Rushville Woman Dies by Own Action in Chicago Hospital
Mrs Will Jay of Rushville died by hanging in a Chicago sanitarium last week. A daughter of John Powers she was forty, married with a four year old daughter. She had been in the hospital since September 19 and was thought to be improving. Her father and husband are wealthy and prominent.

Excavation Reveals Shell-Constructed Floor and Remains
At Lawrenceburg Maryland Warren Tebbs supervised workers digging on his estate where ten feet down a shell floor was uncovered. Beneath lay parts of two skeletons, two old flintlock pistols with brass barrels, and two copper chisels. The tomb is believed to be about 150 years old. Tebbs notes the pistols resemble one he owns that served in the Revolutionary era for his great great grandfather Warren Tebbs.
