Sunday afternoon guests at the Odd Fellows Home enjoyed excellent vocal and instrumental music in the chapel. Performers included Mrs May Siling Mash Thomas Miss Nellie Ferguson Will Erdmanan and son Ernest Robin Montgomey and Morris Erdmann.
The Decatur County Ministerial Association was reorganized at a Monday meeting at the Presbyterian church. Elected officers are Rev. A. R. Beach president Rev. James Mailley vice president Rev. T. J. Anthony second vice president Rev. Alonzo Murphy secretary. Executive committee includes Rev. John Heritage Rev. R. H. Dunaway and Rev. A. L. Bennett. First meeting set for next Monday at ten o'clock.
Samuel Everett Styers suffered a sixth paralysis attack at eleven o’clock Friday night and died at six o’clock Saturday morning after lingering unconscious. He lived his life on the family farm one mile south of the city, aged fifty eight. Survived by widow, one daughter Mrs Earl Robbins of Grammer, mother Mrs Larilda Styers, and three brothers Jesse Charles and William. Funeral at his home Monday afternoon conducted by Rev John Heritage, burial in South Park cemetery.
Ira J. Hollensbe secretary reports assay values of $4.85 and an eight foot sample on the foot wall yields 23-10 percent copper and 4 ounces silver per ton. The miners have struck clean quartz and the heavy mineralization suggests a major commercial strike for the camp and outside holders.
Henry Kammerling, a leading meat dealer, has leased the former Christman’s bakery building on South Broad street. Levi Burns led a party of farmers to North Dakota to pose as a live Democrat exhibit. The prank collapsed after Burns vanished amid tour plans with the American Show Company, leaving Sam Hollenslee injured and the company stranded after crowds paid tickets.
Mrs Elizabeth Hendricks Williamson widow of Ira G Williamson died at her sister Miss Emily Hendricks East North street after two oclock Friday morning from a complication of diseases. She was born here and lived in Greensburg except for years in Shelpnyville and Indianapolis. Survived by three children Mrs Nellie Purcell Indianapolis Ira Williamson and Glanton Williamson Lawrenceburg two sisters Emily and Mary Hendricks and one brother Tosh Hendricks. Funeral at her home Saturday 10:30 conducted by Rev A R Beach. Burial in Indianapolis that afternoon.
Teachers and pupils held a social to raise funds for an organ. A prize for the most beautiful young lady went to Miss Edna Pleak by a 1900 vote margin. The event cleared twenty dollars.

Prosecutor Craig and the grand jury invited twenty seven Newpoint residents to appear Friday to present points related to the shooting at Newpoint in which the Land brothers were killed earlier.
Hon Will KR Pleak of Adams neighborhood gains a lucrative five year lease for his three acre gravel pit near the traction line. The deal includes right of way and is valued at ten thousand dollars, described as nearly as good as a gold mine.
Jacob B. Smith died at his son Scobey Smith's home on North Carver Street Sun day evening after an illness with complications. He was sixty six and survived by three sons Scobey Webster and Troy and two daughters Mrs Flora Burney and Mrs Cora Beavers of Montpelier. Funeral services were held at Scobey Smith's home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Reverends D R VanBuskirk and James Mailley. Burial followed at South Park cemetery.
Postmaster Braden tracked a money order rascal who bought sub dollar orders and altered them for larger sums to skim small profits. An order for forty cents, issued in Louisville on September 15, named Mary Hart as purchaser and Samuel Murry as payee. Murry was jailed in Ohio awaiting inquiry into the scheme.
The Greensburg Canning Factory owned by the Hamilton Bros will expand within the year to boost capacity for peas beans tomatoes sauerkraut and catsup The investment around ten thousand dollars will add a new building and machinery and create about forty more jobs They expect to can up to one million units next season if farmers supply sufficient crops this year they produced 250000 quarts of tomatoes and shipped to New York Boston Chicago and Kansas City
