Greensburg hosts historic Masonic district gathering event
Greensburgs Masons staged a two day event attracting brethren from up to forty miles. Mystic Tie Lodge from Indianapolis performed degrees for John Imlay Jr and Will Brazleton as hundreds observed. Local clubs provided music and a mass fellowship marked by praise and shared hospitality.

State Statistician issues sixth bi annual bureau report
Simeon J. Thompson releases a 500 page two year report closing Jan 1 listing 47 cities with iron plants totaling 166, employing 15 873 people including 13 951 men 1 905 boys and 17 women. The report records grounds and buildings valued at 8 707 035 materials cost 9 052 630 manufactured products 17 794 252 wages 5 435 895 and details average daily wages across 40 industries with 3 14 dollars for highest skilled labor and 1 04 dollars for highest unskilled. It notes 47 626 American born and 13 676 foreign born workers 18 172 unmarried and 43 130 married and rent totals 1 947 816. Building and loan stock owned by 8 577 workers totals 52 463 shares and life insurance valued at 22 294 for 17 388 employees.

Kicked Up at Both Ends at Clifty Creek Crossing
Henry Kammerling and Frank Brown narrowly escaped disaster when crossing the flooded Clifty Creek on a horse and cart. The horse reared and threw them both into the water, but Kammerling swam to shore while Brown reached safety first. They warmed by a fire and Kammerling bought beef cattle before returning home. Residents urge building a sturdy bridge at the crossing.
