St Maurice Knights of Columbus Fete Draws Many Visitors
One hundred men and youths attended a free oyster supper and smoker at the St Maurice school hall hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Decatur County Memorial Hospital Bonds Bring New Facility
The 1919 Decatur County vote approved bonds of 100 900 for a hospital to serve veterans and residents. Construction by J A Hickman of Martinsville finished in ten months on North Lincoln street, with 24 rooms and 27 beds. The building includes an advanced operating area, X ray, and sterilizing equipment, supervised by Miss Maude Abell with nurses Sneeden Aldrich and McClain. Community support added over 5 000 through subscriptions and lodges.

Musical Fantasy Delights Baptists crowd at First Church
The First Baptist church held a musical fantasy last evening to a highly receptive audience. Flags and flowers decorated the church with contributions from Henry Henningsen. Veterans from 1861 took part in the final number, praised for their noble service. Mr and Mrs Willard Fraley performed as lovers. Sunday school orchestra members U S Holdcraft Ed Tichenor and E S Zeigler earned praise for the evening. Mrs Ed Tichenor directed the production.
