Wright Dies After Fall at Greensburg Doctor
Dr. S. V. Wright died Saturday night after a fall and pneumonia in Greensburg. Born November 23, 1846, in Ohio, he practiced medicine in Adams and Greensburg, married Ella Baen in 1881, and left a widow, three daughters, and three grandsons. He was noted for prohibition advocacy and kind care in sickness. The funeral is set for Wednesday at 10:30 at his home led by Rev. W. H. Reynolds.

Former Greensburger Dies in Oregon at 50
Mrs. Fannie Gillespie Barber of Greensburg died near Portland Oregon at age 50 after a period of illness tuberculosis. She was born in Greensburg in 1867 daughter of John I and Mary Logan Gillespie. She leaves husband Charles Barber Portland a son Leigh a sister Grace Roberts of Los Angeles and foster son Lawrence Beff.

Four frame buildings destroyed in Sunday St. Paul fire
Fire of unknown origin swept four frame structures in St. Paul on Sunday causing $5,000 in losses. John L. Jackson owned one building valued at $2,500 with no insurance. Mrs. Phebe Bailey of California held $1,200 insurance on another. The blaze began at Shoemaker Bakery in the Jackson room and spread quickly, with other losses including a barber shop physician's office and two residences. Firefighting was limited by lack of apparatus.

Fire destroys Donnell home near town
The Donnell homestead four miles north of town burned late Monday, with losses around 10000 dollars, partly insured. Fire origin uncertain though attic blaze likely from a defective flue. Mr. Donnell, about 85, and his daughter Emma escaped with furniture saved by neighbors. he suffered a nervous shock but improved and was moved to Mrs. Hattie Donnell’s home. The landmark site held heirlooms gathered on tours to Europe by Emma and her sister.

Death Claims Belle Smitha After Long Illness
Mrs. Belle Smitha, about 60, a respected Alert resident, died early today from double pneumonia after a long illness. She was a widow with seven children: Cecil of Columus, Harry of Westport, Roy near Alert, and daughters Mrs Robison Hartsville, Mrs Omer Thurston Grammer, Mrs Ora Thurston Hartsville, and Mrs Emory Bannister near Alert. Funeral at 10 a m Thursday at Christian Union Church, Rev J C Nicholson officiating. Burial in Sandcreek Cemetery.
