Greensburg riot and political clashes in April events

Buffalo Bills Friend Bead Dies Near Hartford City

Ira M. Keeler aged seventy eight died five miles southwest of Hartford City on December 19. A Civil War veteran and early west stage driver he befriended Buffalo Bill Cody and served in three Indiana and Ohio companies including the Guthrie Grays. He was wounded multiple times.

Five Log Schoolhouses and Consolidated Schools Rise

The state report shows 851 consolidated schools at end of July 1911, up 143 from last year. Total school buildings 9,187, down 87, brick buildings 4,795, five log structures used for public schools, 175 new buildings valued at 2,451,864.99, including 145 erected in townships valued at 1,139,949.94.
