John B Trimble Dies After Feeble Health in Milford
Milford native John B Trimble died at his home after a long illness aged eighty nine. Born January 11 1818 in Grayson County Virginia he was a carpenter and contractor who helped build local landmarks. He lived in Milford and Jackson township then Kansas before returning to Milford where funeral services were held at home and burial followed in South Park cemetery.

Five Napoleon saloonkeepers plead guilty under Nicholson law
John Busendorf Fred Meyer Jacob Myer Johnson Myers and Sam McGaffy admitted two counts each of violating the Nicholson law in Justice Laswell's court. They were fined 53 dollars plus costs for illegal hours and for having screens at illegal hours. Prosecutor Davis refused to dismiss cases but pledged no further prosecutions if future conduct improves. Themen plan a summer law school at Napoleon to study The Nicholson Law and imitate the Squeers academy as they learn then act.

Will of A B Armington probated in Decatur County Indiana
The will names Mary M Armington as administratrix with Augustus A Armington as co heir to the estate. The document dated January 7 1898 provides for debts and funeral expenses and leaves all property to Augustus and Mary with survivor receiving all if one dies first.
