Centre of Population to be marked at Center of Population ceremony
The 1891 center of United States population will be marked at the Center of Population ceremony near Greensburg Indiana on May 30 1891. A monument of Bedford stone ten feet high weighing about three tons will be erected on the Engle estate Sandcreek Twp Decatur County. The event includes services with speakers and music and may involve a special train for ladies.
