Isaac LaRue died Monday night at his Mt Carmel home after a protracted illness. He was 72 and well known across eastern and central parts of the county. Funeral services will be held Friday at two o clock in the Mt Carmel Universalist Church with Rev Haffoer of Anderson officiating.
Miss Effie E Taylor and Grover Vandever were married last evening at the bride’s Letts home in a ceremony conducted by Rev. H Morrow. The couple followed with a bridal trip to Indianapolis after the service.
The Craig School northeast of town will close for holidays with ceremonies described as beautiful and impressive. Earl House will play Santa and is expected to perform with his usual pleasing style, assisted by Arthur McCormick.
Will Hurst of near St. Maurice fell from a barn roof while shingling and broke his left arm. He was treated at home after the injury. A fire in the Stevens building in St. Paul was checked by the bucket brigade before major damage occurred.
Mrs. Alice Favors aged 28 years 10 months 11 days died Wednesday afternoon at 4 at her St. Paul home after a brief illness. She leaves a husband and six children. Funeral Friday 2 pm at the residence conducted by Rev. Burns Hartsville. Burial in St. Paul cemetery.
Congressmen each receive 15000 garden seed packages and many flower seeds. Clerks record constituent names and addresses on slips listing seed types, which are sent to the agriculture department for packing and mailing. The process requires substantial congressional staff effort.
Dr William R Wolf age 68 died at his home 145 South West Street Wednesday evening after a lingering illness. He was born Nov 7 1847 in Hagerstown Indiana and was the son of J G Wolf of Morristown. A dentist by profession for fourteen years he leaves a father wife a son and two sisters. Funeral at the residence Friday morning at 10. Interment to be announced. Shelbyville Jeff. Ralph Spaugh and wife of Columbus visited friends. Mrs Link Heron of Ruslyville visiting here.

Herman Rhodes of Louisville visited Miss Lanham Wednesday evening.
December 20 report by Supt Sands on the hazing case is arriving for a conference with the Secretary of the Navy and officials. Officials say hazing will be stamped out at the Academy if within the department's power.
A southbound passenger, D. M. Branham, telephoned Elizabethtown after seeing smoke from Mrs. Mary J. Burns home. The bucket brigade extinguished the fire, limiting loss to 20 dollars. Burns family was not home. Mrs. Burns is well known locally.
A note from the 1852 Indiana Register recounts a large mound on Big Flatrock in Rush county with an excavation that yielded human bones and a reclining skeleton under a flat stone, plus another nearby skeleton-filled mound. Modern investigators find no trace of the site, deeming it often misidentified or erased.
Relatives in this city of James Miller of Osgood received word that he was killed by a B and O freight train Wednesday morning while walking along the track. Miller, 75, was deaf and did not hear the train. his body was found after landing across a barb wire fence. Burial is planned in Osgood Friday as many relatives in Ripley and the county mourn. Albert Zolle of Indianapolis arrived to help address the explosion damage earlier.
