Indiana educator David M. Geeting dies at 82
David M. Geeting, longtime Indiana educator and ex state superintendent, died yesterday after a brief illness at 82. He led Indiana schools, helped pass compulsory education and township high school laws, and later directed the Indiana School Journal before serving as chief deputy in the Bureau of Statistics. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, and a stepson.
