The Boards of Supervisors of Butler and Franklin Counties met in a joint session at the Court House in Allison on May 2, 1958. Chairman Paul C. Schaeffer presided with county and township engineers present and bids opened for Pony Trusses and grading projects in Butler and Franklin counties.

Butler County Board approves 1958 April home report and tax actions
Butler County Board of Supervisors examined approved and filed the April 1958 Monthly Report for the County Home. They moved to discontinue a cash allowance for Grace Willins effective May 5 1958 and granted a Class B beer permit to Round Grove Golf and Country Club. The board ordered weed control across Butler County lands with staged deadlines and adopted a comprehensive weed destruction program overseen by the Weed Commissioner. They invited citizens to a May 15 1958 open house at the courthouse to view its disrepair and set up the June 2 1958 primary election judge and clerk appointments across townships. They also tabled abatement of Claude Schuck’s taxes on specified property in New Hartford Iowa.
