Greene residents and relatives gather at the Hildebrand reunion in Cedar Falls with numerous attendees from M&M circles. The note lists multiple families visiting, travel from Chicago to Kansas, plus several weekend social calls and gatherings across Iowa, Illinois, and Florida, highlighting a busy line of family events and hospital stays.
Nursing home visitors were numerous across the week. Names include Sue and Kaile Swartz visiting Esther Clapham and Louise Wells. Fred Butzlaff visiting his daughter and son in law M and M Paul Burroughs at Hansell on Tuesday. Emmett Hanley hosts visitors including Lowell Maxson William Stohr of Plainfield Lynn Shafer of Texas and others on Wednesday. Betty Haytings Archie Raymond and Duane Franklin visiting Cora Raymond while Fern Clark visited patients and staff Saturday. M and M Carl Busma Allison Marie Van Horn Ricardo Wells Charles City Evelyn Wells visiting Louise Wells. Emmett Hanley’s birthday is July 8.
Lois Geesman daughter of M and M John Geesman earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Rochester Community College. She played in the concert band and joined Tar Alpha Pi honor society. She begins work July 7 as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
The annual Shook reunion gathered about 50 people at Perrin Park on Sunday June 29. Attendees hailed from Iowa Falls Mason City Marble Rock Charles City Hampton Bristow Waterloo Goldfield Iowa City Clarksville Austin Minn and Greene. Florence Shook and Dorothy Stotler will lead next year’s reunion.
Diane Miller was honored at a mixed bridal shower hosted by her grandmother in Greene Iowa with 31 guests from several towns. She will wed Mark Bigler on August 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene. A separate note covers Pearl Neumann’s 80th birthday celebration in Waverly with Marsh family attendees. Catholic Daughters announce Past Regents Day on July 13 at Holiday Motor Lodge Clear Lake with a $6 reservation due July 3.

The Kingery family reunion was held Sunday June 29 at Ackley Creek Park with a picnic for 46 relatives and one guest. Attendees represented Greene Nashua Charles City Allison Plainfield Marble Rock Berkley Ill Tulsa Okla and Ft Lupton Colo. Officers for 1976 were Mrs Andrew Sessler president Maynard Kingery vice president and Mrs Orval Kingery secretary. Eldest guest was 87 year old George L Shafer and the youngest Sara Litterer one year old daughter of M and M Doug Litterer.

Sally Bertram daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Bertram attended the CO-OP Youth Leadership Conference at William Jewell College Liberty Missouri June 23 28 among 900 rural youths. Sponsored by Farmer's CO-OP Greene the week featured cooperative training workshops and group discussions along with swimming parties and relaxation. conference delegates manage their own cooperative and learn duties of managers directors employees and members. Farmland Industries Kansas City sponsors the annual event with local cooperatives funding most delegates. CRD MEETING planned carnival posters tickets T shirt craft and games including Capture the Flag Swat and a water fight as recreation
Mrs. Harley Hansen hosted a Plainfield bridal shower for Glenda Juhl of Latimer with helpers Helen Judas Ruth Bellmer Marilyn Foss and Rowena Johnson. Attendees include several M&M family members from multiple towns. Glenda Juhl and Paul Jepsen plan to wed July 12. church services and meetings listed for July 6 to July 10 including worship Sunday School and prayer services.
Mary Kathryn McRoberts graduates from University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine with a Radiologic Technology certificate and Mallinckrodt award honor. Parents M&M Loren McRoberts and sister Jane from Janesville, Wisconsin attend.
